This is the most common question we receive: how long until I see results? The answer is determined by biology, not marketing, and it is more nuanced than most brands admit.
Hair grows approximately 1cm (about half an inch) per month from the follicle. Even if a supplement immediately improves the quality of new growth, that new hair must physically grow long enough to be visible. This takes a minimum of 4–8 weeks.
Weeks 2–4: nail changes may be the earliest visible sign. Nails grow faster than hair and respond to biotin supplementation relatively quickly.
Weeks 4–8: skin texture improvements as one full turnover cycle completes with nutrient-supported cells reaching the surface.
Weeks 8–12: hair thickness and quality improvements typically become noticeable to the user. Stylists may notice before you do.
We recommend a minimum 60-day commitment before evaluating Gelagen. This aligns with two complete skin turnover cycles and allows hair to grow enough for visible assessment. It is also why our guarantee runs 60 days.
Take close-up photos of your skin, nails and hair at Day 1, Day 30 and Day 60 under the same lighting conditions. Human memory is unreliable for gradual changes; photos provide objective comparison.
